i have used limewire but it gave me a virus, i would like to move away from lime wire... what do you suggest?

The only reason you got a virus is because you downloaded an infected file, and don't have anti-free mp3 download softwarevirus, which is nobody's, but your fault.
Don't download's things from P2P's like Limeware don't you know it has illegal downloads.
